Why am I assigned this task?
After submitting your FAFSA, the Department of Education processes your form. If the FAFSA is considered incomplete (such as missing required signatures) the Department of Education notifies you by email what you need to correct.

What you need to do
Refer to the email from the Department of Education or contact our office and let us inform you what needs to be addressed.

Why am I assigned this task?
After submitting your FAFSA, the Social Security Administration (SSA) verifies your citizenship status. If the SSA cannot verify your citizenship status, this is assigned.

What you need to do
Provide documentation that verifies your citizenship status

U.S. Passport, U.S. Passport Card, Permanent Resident Cards, Certificate of Naturalization, Birth Certificate, and I-94: Arrival/Departure Record are acceptable.

Some of these forms have a signature line. Unsigned documents are not considered valid.

Once you have gathered your citizenship documents, submit them online.

Why am I assigned this task?
To ensure that we match your application to your student profile, we verify by comparing you provided on your FAFSA or WASFA to our School records. When there is a mismatch of information, we are required to identify and resolve the mismatch.

Residency affects not only tuition, but also eligibility of state aid. If there is a mismatch in residency status between your FAFSA or WASFA and our school records, we are required to identify and resolve the mismatch.

Part of the Eligibility Requirements for Financial Aid is to be actively pursing a valid degree program.

According to ctcLink, your degree program is not considered valid or it appears based on your classes that you are pursing a different degree program. 

What you need to do
Update your program of study with Enrollment Services by completing the Edmonds College Academic Program Change Request

• The way the form is set up, you cannot request the change to be made for a past quarter. You may need to email Enrollment Services at registration@edmonds.edu to backdate your program change to the start of an earlier quarter.
• Once the changes have been made on ctcLink, our office will verify and complete the task item.

Please notify our office after you have completed this form so we can monitor when the changes have been made.

Why am I assigned this task?

According to ctcLink, you have completed your degree program. Meaning, if you want to work on another degree and are continuing to seek financial aid, you need to update your program of study.

What you need to do

Why am I assigned this task?
Completing High School is one of the eligibility requirements to receive Financial Aid. Most students who are assigned this task item have indicated on their FAFSA or WASFA one of the following...

1. You did not complete High School
2. You did complete High School but did not provide information about you High School.

Alternatively, our office may request a copy of your High School completion for verification purposes.

What do you need to do

1. Make a correction to your FAFSA or WASFA
2. Re-submit your corrected FAFSA or WASFA
   • Dependent Students will need their Parent or Guardian to sign with them.

Once you have submitted your corrected FAFSA or WASFA, it may take 5-10 business days before our school receives a copy of your FAFSA, and we can confirm and review your corrected application.

Why am I assigned this task?
This Task has been assigned to you to inform you based what was reported on your FAFSA or WASFA, because you have already completed and earned a Bachelors Degree, and are eligible only for Student Direct Loans or Work-Study.

What do you need to do

1. Contact Financial Aid to inform us if you are interest in Direct Loans or Work Study
2. If you think there was a a mistake in how you answered on the FAFSA or WASFA, please contact our office and let us inform you what needs to be addressed.

Tuition due date and Financial Aid

• Tuition is typically due several weeks before the start of each quarter.
• The earliest Financial Aid can start releasing award funds is the week before the quarter.

Financial Aid Deadline

For students who complete their file by the Financial Aid Deadline, our office will put on your account an Enrollment Protection status that does two things.

1. Secures your enrollment in your classes
2. Defers the tuition due date until we are able to determine and apply what aid you are eligible for.

Students who completed their file, have this protection, but miss the deadline will need to pay for books in the meantime.

Students are responsible for notifying our office IF they are enrolled in less than full time credits. Financial Aid may need to adjust your awards to match your enrollment level.

You have this hold on your account as it has come to our attention that you are enrolled in less than full time (12 credits). Please visit our forms page and complete the form to notify our office of your current Enrollment level.
