IMPORTANT Update on the Future of I-CATCH

June 1, 2021 (Last updated 9/23/21)

Important note: Some of the information below will be outdated after September 29, because the I-CATCH staff will no longer be available.

Hello I-CATCH students,

As you may know, the I-CATCH program is funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Professions Opportunity Grant (HPOG) program. We recently learned that HPOG will not be funded past September 29, 2021.

Because of this, the I-CATCH program is unfortunately coming to an end on Sept. 29, 2021. The grant will not provide tuition for fall quarter or student support after Sept. 29.

However, it is important for you to know that you may still continue your education at Edmonds College after Sept. 29. Learn more about the many student support services and funding sources available at Edmonds College.

We are very proud that Edmonds College has been a recipient of HPOG awards since 2010, and we are very sad to see the funding discontinued. We imagine this may be difficult news for many of you, and we want to let you know that the entire I-CATCH team will be here to help you make the move from an I-CATCH supported student to an Edmonds College supported student so that you can continue your education.

What this means for you as an active Edmonds College I-CATCH student:

Students with I-CATCH Wi-Fi/MiFi Hotspots:

Please be aware that your hotspot internet service will end soon possibly as soon as August 31, which is after summer quarter is over. You will not be asked to return your hotspot to I-CATCH.

Fall Quarter 2021 (and beyond):

  1. Due to the end of the grant, tuition support and other funding through I-CATCH will not be available for fall quarter 2021. You are very likely eligible for significant financial assistance through other campus programs, however!
  2. I-CATCH staff will meet with you to develop a plan for securing academic, financial, and community support as the grant ends.
  3. You will have access to I-CATCH employment support through the end of the grant. We highly recommend connecting with our partners at Workforce Snohomish through your I-CATCH Employment Navigator, Natalya Verley.

Our main goal is to make sure that once the I-CATCH program ends on Sept. 29, you have the information you need to continue on your academic pathway into the fall quarter and beyond. This is a big change, and we will do everything we can to get you connected with the right people and programs to help you succeed.

Your entire Edmonds College I-CATCH team is here to support you
