The Washington State Governor's Office recently announced funds to be awarded by random drawing to students in the state’s institutions of higher education. The funds are part of the state’s “Shot of a Lifetime” program and are intended to be used to incentivize vaccination among Washington college students.
Edmonds College will be awarding ten $1,000 scholarships at the end of July. Awards will be posted to fall 2021 student aid accounts, with any balance remaining distributed via Bank Mobile. Students must also enroll in fall quarter 2021 to receive the scholarship.

A random number selector will determine the ten scholarship winners. The Student Engagement Department will follow up with scholarship recipients to verify vaccine and enrollment status. Acceptance of a Vaccine Incentive Award may affect a student’s eligibility for and calculated amounts of federal financial aid and/or public assistance.
Remember, fall quarter will have online, hybrid, and face-to-face options. COVID-19 vaccinations are required for all students, faculty, and staff before returning to face-to-face classes on campus for fall 2021, though exemptions will be allowed for health, religious, or philosophical reasons.
