It’s Worth a Shot

Win a $1,000 Scholarship

Get Vaccinated and Register for Fall Classes for a Chance at One of Ten $1,000 Scholarships!

Vaccination Scholarship GraphicThe Washington State Governor's Office recently announced funds to be awarded by random drawing to students in the state’s institutions of higher education. The funds are part of the state’s “Shot of a Lifetime” program and are intended to be used to incentivize vaccination among Washington college students.

Edmonds College will be awarding ten $1,000 scholarships at the end of July. Awards will be posted to fall 2021 student aid accounts, with any balance remaining distributed via Bank Mobile. Students must also enroll in fall quarter 2021 to receive the scholarship.

Students will be automatically entered into the drawing if they:

  • were enrolled spring 2021 and successfully completed at least 6 credits,
  • have not yet graduated,
  • were a Washington resident during spring 2021;
  • are registered for classes at Edmonds College in the fall 2021 term by July 26, and
  • can provide proof of having received at least one shot of a COVID-19 vaccine regimen by July 26.

The drawing will be held on July 26, 2021.

A random number selector will determine the ten scholarship winners. The Student Engagement Department will follow up with scholarship recipients to verify vaccine and enrollment status. Acceptance of a Vaccine Incentive Award may affect a student’s eligibility for and calculated amounts of federal financial aid and/or public assistance.

Let’s get ready for fall 2021!

Remember, fall quarter will have online, hybrid, and face-to-face options. COVID-19 vaccinations are required for all students, faculty, and staff before returning to face-to-face classes on campus for fall 2021, though exemptions will be allowed for health, religious, or philosophical reasons. Please check the FAQ page for information and updates.
