What is Summer Start?
Currently Enrolling Students for Summer Session 2020. Classes start July 1.
Summer Start is a program in which any high school student, freshman through senior, can take college-level courses over the summer. Once enrolled, you’ll receive both high school and college credit for the classes you complete at Edmonds College. Please check with your high school counselor to ensure Edmonds College courses you are interested in will fulfill your high school graduation requirements.
Who is eligible?
You! Summer Start is open to high school freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Depending on the classes you choose, there may be some placement testing and evaluation.
Where and when will I take classes?
You can choose from day or evening classes on campus, or select from flexible online options, too. There are lots of classes to choose from.
How much does Summer Start cost?
The costs are around $525 for a 5 credit class (additional fees might apply). The cost of textbooks vary.
Why should I enroll?
You’ll get a chance to experience what college life is like. Plus, the credits you earn might count toward your high school graduation requirements and a college degree, too!
To get started, all students under 18 years of age will need a parent or legal guardian to submit a request form. This form will give you additional details about the steps to take to complete your enrollment. Because we want to be sure that you're ready to succeed at the college-level, students under 16 years of age are admitted on a case-by-case basis. If you're under 16, it's easy to get your evaluation started, just contact an Admissions and Outreach Specialist.
