CANVAS LOGIN CANVAS PASSWORD RESET
Canvas is the Learning Management System (LMS) used at Edmonds College for online, hybrid, and web enhanced classes. Canvas is used for assignments, checking grades, student collaboration, and more.
There are several reasons why you may not have access to your Canvas account. These may include:
- Not registered/just registered
If you are a newly enrolled student, you will first need to register for at least 1 class credit for your Canvas account to be created. Once registered, it may take up to 24 hours for your Canvas account to be created.
- Incorrect Password
You may be entering an incorrect password when logging in to Canvas. You will log in to Canvas using your ctcLink account credentials. If you need to reset your ctcLink password, proceed to the ctcLink login page and select ‘Forgot Password?’
- Wrong Canvas webpage
Be sure that you are logging in at the Edmonds College Canvas login page (edmonds.instructure.com), rather than ‘canvas.com’.
- Dropped/no longer a student
You may have been dropped from your courses which would prevent you from accessing Canvas. Please contact and verify your status with Enrollment Services.
- Wrong username/password
Your Canvas login credentials will be your ctcLink account login:
Username: ctcLink ID (ex. 202XXXXXX of 101XXXXXX)
Password: ctcLink Password
- Browser compatibility
It is recommended to use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to access Canvas for full functionality.

- Canvas app (mobile)
Several users have reported issues signing in to Canvas through the Canvas mobile application. We advise accessing Canvas on a PC/Laptop, or mobile browser.
- The beginning of the quarter has not started
Canvas access is typically given to newly registered students 7 calendar days before the quarter begins. You may review the Canvas Term Dates by Quarter to confirm when to expect access.
If you are a newly enrolled student, you will first need to register for at least 1 credit for your Canvas account to be created. It may take up to 24 hours for your Canvas account to be created.
- You are not registered or have been dropped from your courses
You may have been dropped from your courses which would prevent you from accessing Canvas. Please contact and verify your status with Enrollment Services.
- You are a transfer student from another college or attending another college.
You may be seeing courses from other institutions even though you are logged in to your Edmonds College Canvas account. First, log out of Canvas on all of your devices (including smartphones, tablets, other computers, etc.). Clear your browser history and proceed to the Edmonds College login page to sign in.
- The previous quarter has ended, and as a rule, course material from previous quarters are removed from Canvas to make way for the upcoming/current quarter.
To obtain course material from a previous quarter contact your instructor.
- The beginning of the quarter has not started
Canvas access is typically given to newly registered students 7 calendar days before the quarter begins.
Your display name must match the student records on file. If you notice a discrepancy,
please confirm your student information with Enrollment Services. Once these changes are made, please submit a ticket at itsupport.edmonds.edu to initiate this process.
You may, however, show a preferred name when posting on discussion boards to other
students by adding a preferred name in ctcLink.
You are able to add a personal email address to your Canvas account to receive notifications.
You are able to sync your Canvas calendar to your Google calendar.
This may be due to an old link that leads to a page removed from Canvas. If you are trying to access older course material, please contact your instructor for that course.
