The current business includes the owner and one employee who specialize in pruning, but also do design, installation, irrigation and lighting, and maintenance (no mowing).

Groundskeeper needed at Silver Glen, a cooperative housing community for independent seniors in the Crossroads area of Bellevue, WA. It is a full-time position caring for approx four acres of landscaped property surrounding three buildings, with driveways, sidewalks and gravel paths. Main plantings include many varieties of mature shrubs, trees, groundcovers, perennials, and lawns.

Responsibilities include mulching, pruning, planting, clean-up, sweeping and blowing, weeding, lawn care, irrigation, driving the utility cart, using and maintaining garden tools, and assisting with some maintenance tasks as needed.

The Reserve at Moonlight Basin is accepting applications for summer interns for the 2020 season. Moonlight Basin is an 18-hole private golf course located at 7,000 feet elevation in Big Sky, MT. Moonlight Basin was rated #2 Best New Private Golf Course in 2016.

The internship program will consider the student's goals, and involve them in several aspects of golf course management with a strong emphasis on where the student feels he/she needs improvement. Mowing; fertilizer and pesticide applications; course setup; water management; equipment maintenance and mower setup; and budgeting are all topics which will be covered.

The Northwest Perennial Alliance (NPA) is seeking a part-time intern for Spring 2020 and Fall 2020 quarters. NPA is responsible for a large ornamental mixed border at the Bellevue Botanical Garden where the internship will be located. Internships are 10 weeks with work hours on Thursdays, 9 am to 1:30 pm, including a lunch break. Compensation is $25/hr for a total of $100/week.


  • Plant maintenance in unique and elaborately landscaped garden beds;

The Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) is hiring for multiple work groups, including positions in the Park Districts and Natural Resource Unit. Persons in this position may perform tasks such as planting, transplanting, weeding, pruning and care of seasonal plants, shrubs, trees and natural areas. Mowing, aerating, over seeding and fertilizing lawns and turf care.


  • Perform skilled gardening and landscaping work in planting, cultivation, pruning and care of  flowers, shrubs, trees, lawn and landscaped areas;
  • Utilize Integrated Pest Management, including pesticide applications for weed, insect and disease control and maintain records of pesticide applications;

The Hardy Fern Foundation (HFF), a premier resource on ferns in the Pacific Northwest, is looking for a self-motivated individual to hire as our HFF Program Manager. This is a part-time 28 hr/week position in the office and headquarters located in Federal Way, WA at the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden.

The program manager will work closely with the HFF Board to manage the growing operations and oversee garden maintenance. This is a rare opportunity to become involved in one of the prominent non-profit gardening organizations in our area.


  • Maintain the HFF Fern Collection located in the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden (RSBG) in Federal Way, WA under the direction of the Curatorial Board Committee and with the assistance of HFF volunteers;
  • Manage and maintain the nursery operations in the HFF hoop house and greenhouse propagation area;
  • Perform administrative duties and overall management of daily HFF operations and assist the Board of Directors in executing its responsibilities;

Shooting Star Gardens - On-Site Project Lead

The On-Site Project Lead position starts with a three-month trial period of field labor with limited leadership responsibility. An ideal candidate will take initiative during this period and independently learn what it takes to lead a team.

Natural Greenscapes - Part-Time Gardener

PlantAmnesty is seeking an intern for a fun and educational project this fall.

Internship in Pruning Archives: Assist the Office Manager in reviewing and standardizing our extensive collection pruning literature. The benefits of joining this pruning focused non-profit is access to decades of articles and writing on the art and science of pruning woody plants. This internship is all about editing and uploading these documents to our new website. In addition to learning so much about pruning from reviewing this library you will also be behind the scenes in building a multifaceted website.  Handy skills and fun too!

Can be mostly done remotely with weekly meetings in Magnuson Park.

We use handouts, slide series, and instructors’ personal experience to teach pruning to a wide range of students.   You will be reviewing and editing the whole series with the project intent being a complete immersion in the pruning education.

Can be mostly done remotely with weekly meetings in Magnuson Park.

The Washington Association of Conservation District Plant Materials Center (WACD PMC) is looking for its next Sales Manager.  We are a nursery located in Skagit County, WA that produces native seedlings for use in conservation projects.  If you have experience in nursery sales and marketing, customer relations, inventory control, know the native flora of the northwest, an excellent communicator and team player this might be a rewarding career opportunity.  This is a permanent, full-time position with full benefits.

In addition to the skills listed above, the ideal candidate will need to be proficient in the MS Office suite of programs, able to learn our inventory control program, detail oriented, well developed customer service skills, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and dependable.  We are looking for someone with a degree in horticulture, natural resources, forestry, ag or related field.  Suitable work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
