Mental Health Technician

Making a Difference

A Mental Health Technician, as part of an interdisciplinary team, provides patient care and client interaction as well as support to people of all ages. Skills learned in the MHT program help students deliver direct patient care such as providing structure and interaction as well as basic medical monitoring. MHTs participate in the direct delivery of patient care by observation, involving patients in scheduled program activities and assisting patients with daily living activities. The MHT program is designed to provide the foundational skills to effectively work with individuals in behavioral health environments.
