Since April 1,  2022, the wearing of masks on campus has been optional; however, you are encouraged to continue wearing masks while on campus.

In these three cases, masks are required:

• • If you test positive, you are required to stay home for five days. When returning to campus after the five days, you must wear a well-fitting mask for days 6-10 after your symptom onset or positive test result.

  • Anyone who has been exposed to someone with COVID-19 must continue to wear a mask when around others for the full 10 days after exposure.

  • When visiting the counseling center on campus.

Students
Beginning January 1, 2023, COVID-19 vaccinations and attestations will no longer be required to take classes at Edmonds College. 

Students working or training for positions in healthcare, childcare and other industry specific areas where vaccination and/or masking is required will continue to meet those program specific requirements. Additionally, some offices/ services may have industry specific requirements. Please check with your instructor for specific program requirements. 

As with all healthcare settings, masks will still be required in the campus counseling center. 

Report when you test positive
Everyone who works and learns on campus must submit a health report when they test positive for COVID-19. Keeping you informed of cases on campus will help keep us all healthy. Reporting cases to employees is a Labor and Industries requirement so until this requirement is lifted, daily case reports will continue to be issued.

Employees
Vaccinations will remain required for all current and new employees through the end of the 2022-2023 academic year, June 30. Medical or religious exemptions may still be requested. Employees on an exemption must wear a mask on campus at all times. Masks remain optional for vaccinated employees.

At this time, in accordance with the Governor’s Higher Education Proclamation and the  Snohomish Health District, social distancing is no longer required on campus. 

If you test positive please stay home and file a report. If you have symptoms, please stay home and take a COVID-19 test. If you test negative, please refer to the Washington State Department of Health COVID-19 Decision Tree.

Quarantine is no longer a standard recommendation after being exposed to COVID-19. If you have been exposed to COVID-19, you should take the following steps:

• Get tested 3-5 days after your last contact with the person with COVID-19
  • If you test positive, follow the guidance in What to do if you test positive for COVID-19.
  • If you test negative by an antigen test, consider retesting with an antigen test 24-48 hours after the first negative test. If the second test is negative, but concerns exist for COVID-19, consider retesting 24-48 hours after the second negative test, for a total of at least 3 tests. If you get a negative result on the third test and are concerned you could have COVID-19, you may choose to test again.
• Wear a high-quality mask or respirator around others at home and in public for 10 days after your last contact with the person with COVID-19.
• Watch for symptoms of COVID-19.
