Ways to give at Edmonds College

Looking for ways to give over the holiday season? The Edmonds College Foundation needs funds to provide scholarships and emergency funding for students, grants for college programs, and advocacy for the college and the college's volunteer literacy program needs volunteer tutors to help ESL and GED students with math and reading.

Needs: Cash donations to support the Foundation and the scholarship program. Donations made to the new Jack and Elaine Oharah Endowed Scholarship, in honor of outgoing president Jack Oharah, by Dec. 31 will be matched by an anonymous donor and a federal grant.

Edmonds College volunteer literacy program — Helps adults in ESL, GED, and basic education programs improve their reading, writing and math skills. Needs: Volunteer tutors to commit to two hours per week for three months. Daytime and evening hours available. No experience required. Training and support provided. Math tutors are needed and math workbooks and textbooks from 3rd grade through basic algebra and geometry. Reading tutors and office help also needed. Volunteers are needed for two hour timeslots for ESL between 7:30 a.m.-9:40 p.m., Mon-Thurs. and for GED students between 8:30 a.m.-12:20 p.m., Mon.-Fri. and 6-8 p.m. Mon. and Wed.
