Bookstore opens in Triton Student Center
01/05/2009
The College Bookstore has opened in the new Triton Student Center with about 4,900 square feet of retail space.
Yes, there are still construction fences up as work continues on the addition to Brier Hall, but you can walk right into the front of the building (east side parallel to 68th Ave. W.), enter the front doors, turn to your left and buy books or get your campus id, the EdPass. Hours are 7:30 a.m.-8 p.m., Jan. 5-8 (7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Jan. 9).
Edmonds College has now opened a new student union, college bookstore, and cafeteria on campus this winter. The 22,000 square foot, two-story addition for the new bookstore and student union connects directly to the northeast corner of Brier Hall. The $13.4 million project, funded by student services and activities fees, began in summer 2007.
The Triton Student Center will feature a game and video room, lounge with gas fireplace, and a small stage for performances on the first floor. The second floor will have conference rooms, group study rooms, club office space, a publications office (for the college’s literary journal, Between the Lines, and student newspaper, The Triton Review), a Center for Service-Learning, and offices for the Associated Students of Edmonds College Executive Board and Programming Team.
The cafeteria seating area remodel will feature improved study space. An atrium leads to the bookstore.
