BizArt Conference for Visual, Literary, Performing Artists

01/20/2009

Artist-led workshops at the conference will provide information and opportunities to learn about the business end of being an artist including marketing, resource development and financial and legal issues.

State and local organizations will present business and other resources available to artists in the region.

This year’s keynote speaker is Tim O’Neill, who has released 30 albums of piano music with his brother Ryan O’Neill as the piano-playing duo The O’Neill Brothers. The duo has sold almost 2 million CDs and provided music for NBC, ESPN, PBS and HBO. Their music was recently featured on the CBS hit series, “Cold Case,” and their PBS concert special, “Piano for Someone You Love,” was nominated for an Emmy award.

Tim O’Neill will speak about how independent artists can not only make a living at what they love to do, but become successful - one step at a time. He’ll share stories about what he’s learned along the way and provide ideas and suggestions for visual, literary and performing artists.

The BizArt conference is a presentation of Everett Community College's School of Business Design, Edmonds College’s ArtsNow and Self Employment in the Arts of North Central College, Illinois.
