College hires Director of Evaluation & Assessment

Director of Evaluation and Assessment Jim Mulik

Jim Mulik is the college’s new Director of Evaluation and Assessment. Mulik will assist faculty and staff with instructional and institutional assessment, research, and planning efforts. He will also provide leadership in accreditation processes.
He comes to Edmonds CC from the College of the Marshall Islands (CMI), where he worked for three and a half years as the Vice President for Research, Planning, and Grants overseeing college-wide planning efforts, institutional research, information technology, and grants. He also served as the institution’s Accreditation Liaison Officer and coordinated the institution’s 2008 Self Study efforts. During his time at CMI, he was commended for creating data-driven decision-making processes at the college.
In the late 1990s, he served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in the Central Pacific nation of Kiribati. At the completion of his service, he worked as an analyst at Cascadia Community College. As Cascadia’s Senior Analyst, he was primarily responsible for analyzing information for college planning, reporting, and accreditation issues. After three years at Cascadia, he joined the administration of CMI in January 2006.
Mulik holds a bachelor's of science degree in mathematics and physics from Rockhurst College in Kansas City and a masters of applied statistics from Ohio State University. He is currently enrolled in Penn State’s graduate certificate in institutional research program.
