The Board of Trustees has kicked off the search for our next president. You can participate by: applying online to be considered for the presidential search committee (or nominating someone) by 7 p.m., Friday, April 9, and taking our online survey, from which we will gather data to be used to create our Presidential Profile—the list of required and desired qualifications for Edmonds CC’s next president. Or, attend one of our public forums.

Edmonds College Trustees' Chairperson Jeanette Wood has announced a nationwide search for a new president of Edmonds College. This comes as a result of President Jack Oharah’s March 10 announcement that he would retire late in 2010 after serving as Edmonds CC’s leader for nearly 15 years. Visit the Presidential Search Web site to nominate someone for the Presidential Search Committee, apply to serve on the committee, or take a survey to share your input on qualifications needed for the new president.
According to a preliminary timeline, application materials will be available April 30 and a review of candidates will begin a month later. The committee will select and interview a number of candidates and eventually narrow the field to a group of finalists. Campus visits and interviews are tentatively scheduled for August. The Board hopes to announce the successful candidate by September.
A Presidential Search Web site, www.edmonds.edu/presidentialsearch, has been created with preliminary information. At this time we are accepting applications from people interested in being considered for the Presidential Search Committee, which will be made up of representatives from across the campus and from our community. The online application form is available until 7 p.m., Fri. April 9. Those interested may also nominate a candidate to serve on the committee.
The Presidential Search Committee—which will be made up of 12-15 representatives from across the campus and from our community—will be appointed by the Board of Trustees in April. This committee will screen presidential candidates and make recommendations to the Trustees.
