Instructors earn BPI energy efficiency certification

07/27/2010
Construction Industry Training instructors Randy Sibley and Josh O'Neil recently earned BPI Building Analyst and Envelope Specialist certification with the Building Performance Institute. This energy efficiency training about how to perform residential energy audits is at the heart of home performance contracting. With the certification, specialty contractors can audit existing buildings and provide recommendations on how to improve safety, comfort, durability and energy efficiency.

Students interested in learning these skills can enroll in:

Energy Efficiency Technician, CIT 110, an introduction to building science with emphasis on the energy envelope. Become familiar with typical energy auditor's tools: blower door, infrared camera and CO analyzer to measure and evaluate a building's energy performance.

Roofing for Green Roofs, CIT 155, enhance your building science training with an emphasis on knowledge and skills needed to pass the BPI Building Analyst or Envelope Specialist exams.
