Edmonds College Board of Trustees gains two new members

11/02/2011
Edmonds College’s Board of Trustees has gained two new members: Wayne Brown of Mill Creek and Diana Clay of Edmonds.

In October, Gov. Gregoire appointed Brown to serve a term through September 2016 and Clay through September 2013.

They replace outgoing board members news producer Mauri Moore, who is now making her home in Seattle, and former state senator Jeannette Wood, whose term ended in September.

Brown is Operations leader for Boeing Commercial Airplane's Manufacturing and Quality organization. He has worked within the Boeing family of companies since 1982. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration from the University of Phoenix and a master's degree in aeronautical engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is the President of the International Aerospace Quality Group and board member for the Performance Review Institute (Nadcap).

Clay is co-owner of Clay Enterprises, LLC, a family business involved in real estate development, investments, management, and leasing in South Snohomish County. She has worked in the business since 1974. She has served on the Edmonds College Foundation Board since 1997.

The new appointees join chair Dick Van Hollebeke, a retired financial services business owner and a former Edmonds City Council member; Quentin Powers, Vice-President of Internal Audit, Compliance and Ethics at Premera Blue Cross; and Emily Yim, Executive Director of The Washington Alliance for Better Schools.

The Board of Trustees ensures the accountability of Edmonds College. Each member must reside within the college's district boundaries. The trustees also serve the statewide system of community and technical colleges responsible for creating opportunities for students across the state on the Trustees Association of Community Colleges.
