College hires Carol Summers as Vice President of College Relations

Edmonds College has hired Carol Summers as its Vice President of College Relations and Advancement.

Summers was most recently Director of Marketing and Public Relations at North Seattle Community College and previously worked as the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications at Bastyr University. She has 12 years of experience in higher education and more than 15 years of work experience in private sector sales and marketing.
At Edmonds CC, she is responsible for advocacy and outreach for the college to add to its resource base and for strategic marketing to increase the visibility of college services and programs.
Summers earned her master's in Business Administration from Eastern Washington University and bachelor's in Political Science from Washington State University. She holds a certificate in Internet Marketing from the University of Washington. She is a member of the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
The previous Vice President of College Relations, John Michaelson, retired after 35 years experience in higher education as a counselor, instructor, basketball coach, and administrator at colleges in Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
