Foundation golf tournament supports education

07/20/2012
The Edmonds College Foundation’s 22nd Annual Golf Classic is 1 p.m. Sept. 10 at the exclusive links of Seattle Golf Club, 210 NW 45th St., Seattle. Cost: $300 per person, includes dinner, or $1,600 for a VIP foursome including a recognition package and additional drink tickets. Register by August 20 online at www.edmonds.edu/foundation or call 425.640.1512.

A day of golfing can make a difference in the community and in the lives of the students, faculty, and staff at Edmonds College. Last year, the Foundation golf tournament raised more than $56,000. It provided vital support to the college and contributed to 150 student scholarships.

The tournament will help make higher education widely available in our community by providing students, especially those with the greatest barriers to overcome, with the support they need to succeed. Scholarship students will be available at the event to talk about how the opportunity to attend college has changed their lives.

In addition, the tournament will be a fun day of golfing followed by a dinner with extras from trivia contests to scotch tasting. Game packages, at $50, include entry to contests for putting, a knowledge bowl, longest drive, hole-in-one, closest to the pin, use the pro drive, straightest drive, and one mulligan. The two hole-in-one contests include opportunities to win a new car from Carter Subaru and Lynnwood Honda.

Community members, alumni, parents, board members, corporations, and other friends of Edmonds College are invited to tee up for 18 holes of golf, an incredible dinner, and camaraderie — for a great cause.

For more information, call 425.640.1274. To sponsor the event, call Kathy Coffey at 425.640.1512.
