Edmonds Community College welcomed a delegation of students Monday, Aug. 12, from the city of Edmonds Sister City of Hekinan, Japan.

“We were so pleased to welcome the delegation from Hekinan, Japan, and in particular, to meet the students,” said Lisa Thompson, International Student Services executive director. “We hope to continue our relationship with our sister city and look forward to hosting another group of students next year."

The delegation of 10 students and two chaperones enjoyed a presentation by International Student Services advisor Takako Croce, a campus tour led by Edmonds CC student Momo Kitahara, and lunch prepared by Edmonds CC Triton Catering.

The delegation is part of a program that’s existed between Edmonds, Wash. and Hekinan, Japan for more than 30 years. A delegation from Edmonds recently traveled to Japan and returned home in time to host this week's visiting Hekinan delegation.

The delegation also visited the city of Edmonds Mayor's Office, the Edmonds Fire Station, and will continue their visit with tours of Seattle, Snoqualmie Falls, Washington State Capital, and participate in various activities in the community.
