Edmonds Community College’s Marketing and Public Information office took home four bronze Medallion Awards at the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) district conference in Friday Harbor last fall. The Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in design and communication at community and technical colleges in each of NCMPR's seven districts.

Edmonds CC won an award in the Brochure (single or series) category for its Triton Quarterly. The booklet is sent to more than 100,000 households and features short program and student spotlights, campus events, easy steps to enroll, important enrollment dates, and information on how to pay for college.

The college’s webpage “Sailing Through Summer” earned an award in the Microsite category. The site is aimed at university students who are home for the summer and provides information about the benefits of taking a summer course at a community college, including: lower costs, smaller class sizes, and the ability to transfer credits to another school.

Edmonds CC earned an award in the Video Shorts (series) category for its videos promoting Acing College, a program that helps high school students sign up for college and register for classes by the time they graduate.

In the Wild Card category, Edmonds CC earned an award for its welcome packet. The packet is mailed three to four weeks before the quarter starts to all students who have applied for the upcoming quarter. It includes a letter from a student leader and the president, tips on being successful and paying for college, and a parking pass for front row parking near the admissions office through the eighth day of the quarter.

NCMPR, based in New Mexico, represents marketing, communications, public relations and enrollment management professionals at community and technical colleges across the United States and Canada. The organization provides professional development opportunities, advocates on behalf of the profession and recognizes professional excellence.
