Edmonds College invites the community, prospective students, and working professionals to explore the future of the regional workforce at the Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Engineering Technology (AMMET) Open House on April 11, from 2-5 p.m. at Monroe Hall.

As the aerospace and automation industries continue to expand in Snohomish County, Edmonds College’s Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in AMMET provides a critical pathway for students to transition into high-paying manufacturing roles. The open house offers a first-hand look at how the program combines hands-on engineering technology experience with the flexible scheduling required by today’s workforce.

“Our AMMET program is designed to meet the specific needs of our local industry partners while providing our students with a clear trajectory toward rewarding careers,” said Dr. Carey Schroyer, dean of STEM at Edmonds. “By hosting this event in Monroe Hall, we’re giving prospective students the chance to see the exact tools—from CNC machining to 3D printing—that they will use to build their futures.”

Event Highlights:

  • Facility Tours: Explore Monroe Hall and witness live demonstrations of CNC machining, 3D printing, and materials testing equipment.
  • Meet the Faculty: Connect with industry-experienced instructors and staff to discuss the supportive cohort model.
  • Career Pathways: Learn about the high-demand roles available to graduates, including Quality Control Systems Managers and Manufacturing Engineers.

The AMMET BAS program is specifically tailored for working professionals, offering a hybrid format with online components and upper-division classes held in the evenings and on weekends. The college is currently accepting applications for the fall 2026 cohort, with a priority deadline of May 1.

The program is also open to high school and Running Start students looking to jumpstart their careers in fields where median salaries for Quality Control Systems Managers can reach $138,289 and for Manufacturing Engineers can reach $126,636.
