Edmonds College will host its fourth annual AI For Everyone Day on Saturday, June 27, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This free event, titled “Learn, Build, Belong,” promotes lifelong learning for all and is designed for the general public, students, and curious minds of all ages to discover how artificial intelligence fits into their lives, careers, and futures through hands-on education and community connection.

"Our goal at Edmonds College is to ensure AI is accessible to all members of our community, no matter their background," stated Dr. Carey Schroyer, Dean of STEM. "This event is meticulously crafted to demystify artificial intelligence and equip community members with the tools needed to understand its transformative potential in an AI-driven world."

Event Workshops Include:

  • Discover AI: Hands-On Community Sandbox
    9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. (Hazel Miller Hall)
    • Jump into the future at our free “Discover AI” by exploring and experimenting with leading AI tools in our interactive sandbox. No prior experience needed—just bring your curiosity. Meet others in the community, try out new technology, and see how AI can make a difference in your learning, work, and everyday life.
  • Using AI For Everyday Learning (No Coding Required)
    9:30-10:30 a.m. (Hazel Miller Hall)
    • Attendees will learn how to create a personalized AI tutor that helps you study, explore new topics, and build skills faster—with no technical background required. In this hands-on session, participants see how to guide AI tools to explain concepts, quiz you, and adapt to your learning style. Walk away with practical strategies you can use immediately for school, work, or personal growth.
  • Build, Code, Play: AI Robotics with Sphero
    Session I: 9:30-11 a.m. (Hazel Miller Hall)
Session II: 12-1:30 p.m. (Hazel Miller Hall)
    • Attendees will get hands-on with Sphero robots as they build and program their own AI-driven behaviors. This fun, beginner-friendly session is great for kids, teens, and adults—no experience needed. Space is limited to keep it highly interactive, so interested participants should reserve their spot on the college event registration page.
  • AI Scams and Deepfakes: How to Protect Yourself and Your Family
    10:45-11:45 a.m. (Hazel Miller Hall)
    • AI is making scams more convincing than ever. In this session, participants will learn how deepfakes and AI-generated messages work—and how to spot the warning signs. The session will cover simple, practical steps to protect yourself, your family, and your community from common scams, misinformation, and fraud, with tips you can start using right away—no technical background required.

While the event is free and open to the public, space for specific workshops is limited. To secure a spot in popular sessions, community members are encouraged to reserve their seats early via the college event registration page.

Doors open at 9 a.m., and the first round of workshops begins at 9:30 a.m. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about Edmonds College’s AI-related degree programs, such as the Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, and various campus clubs, including the Drone, ROV, and Robotics clubs.
