RESILIENT EARTH, RESILIENT COMMUNITIES

Split image of EarthDiscover the science that shapes our world by exploring the National Center for Atmospheric Research's (NCAR) traveling exhibit. Through content panels, hands-on activities, and opportunities to share personal stories, we are excited to feature vital research, which reveals how scientists track changing landscapes and complex weather patterns. This exhibit equips our communities to become more prepared and resilient, helping us all build a better tomorrow.

How You Can Make A Positive Impact

The evidence is clear: our world is rapidly heating. Global average temperatures have already risen by 1.4°C since the Industrial Revolution, a pace of warming far exceeding previous climatic changes. Scientists agree that this significant, rapid change over the last 150 years is a direct result of human activity.

This reality makes the decisions we make today critical—they will shape our world for decades, even centuries, to come. But action is not just about the planet; it’s a direct investment in personal health, community well-being, equity, and environmental justice.

In 2018, the IPCC set a critical deadline: the world must cut emissions to net zero by 2050—requiring global carbon dioxide emissions to be roughly halved by 2030—to limit warming to 1.5°C.

The science is clear. Your action is next. This website is your starting point. Learn about your personal environmental impact, discover effective changes you can make today, and find ways to drive positive change in your community.
