Did you know:
- Approximately 1,067,000 working-age adults (18-64) with disabilities live in Washington state, with 199,000 of them living in poverty.
- The labor participation rate for people with disabilities is 22.5%, compared to 68% for those without, while 1.8 million people rely on Apple Health (Medicaid) for services. (Overview of the Disability Community in Washington State)
- Enrollment in special education has grown to 184,000 students (a 14% increase from previous years),
- As of July 2024 the Development Disabilities Administrations serves 58,068 clients, with 71% receiving paid services.
- Around 1.8 million Washingtonians are on Medicaid, with 200,000 to 320,000 projected to lose coverage due to federal funding.
