Instructors honored at tenure reception

At the May meeting of the Board of Trustees, Developmental Education instructor Erica Almeda was granted tenure and corrections instructor Edwin Anderson received permanent status.

Almeda earned her Master of Education in Adult Education and bachelor's degree in anthropology. Anderson teaches in the Information Technology Class (ITC) program at the Twin Rivers Unit of the Monroe Correctional Complex. He holds a doctorate in psychology, an MBA, and a bachelor of science in mathematics.

Almeda and Anderson, along with nine other instructors, were recognized at a reception before the May 13 board meeting.

In March, the Board of Trustees awarded tenure to instructors Rob Harrill, English/Journalism; David Jacobson, Construction Management; Thutrang Marie Johnson, Business Management; Sarah Maki, Art Studio; Helen Nissani, Family Support Studies/Family Life Education; Amy Shigley, Accounting; and Karen Townsend, Social and Human Services.

Corrections instructors Peter Stitt and Erika Beeson were granted permanent status.
