Kicking off the academic year with a new mission

Edmonds Community College is kicking off its 2017-18 academic year with a new mission: Teaching | Learning | Community.

“At Edmonds CC, our students and community are at the heart of all we do,” said President Dr. Jean Hernandez. “The college’s new mission and core themes demonstrate this commitment.”

The college’s new core themes of academic excellence, student success, and community engagement will be guided by innovation, equity, inclusion, and a global perspective.

The mission provides a strong foundation and focus for the college, along with the core themes, which guide planning efforts and resource allocations.

The mission and core themes were developed through a campus-wide process that began last fall and included listening sessions, survey input, and final approval by the Edmonds CC Board of Trustees.
