MISSION AND VALUES
Mission:
The Black Box Theatre at Edmonds College is a professional, affordable performance facility that serves our campus and surrounding community. Through diverse programming, we seek to spark imagination, foster engagement, and inspire action. By staying relevant and progressive, the BBT strives to create a community space of belonging that advances student success, creates connections, and transforms lives.
Values:
- We value performance, defined as any form of expression, and the dialog it sparks.
- We value the exploration of ideas without restriction.
- We value diversity of culture, life experience, and thought.
- We value safety and maintain a supportive environment for experimentation.

Student Success, Belonging and Global Engagement:
The Black Box Theatre is proud to be under the advisement of Dr. Yvonne Terrell-Powell, the Vice President for Student Success, Belonging and Global Engagement at Edmonds College. The Theatre strives to be a place for student belonging and fully supports Dr. Terrell-Powell's message:
"At Edmonds College, we are committed to student success for all and having a diverse, equitable, and inclusive campus community. As an institution, we are intentionally working to create an educational environment that embodies institutional transformation while actively advancing success for all students."
