Please join The Black Box Theatre at Edmonds College's producing company for our 2nd full season. By producing a play in the Fall and a musical in the Spring, the Black Box Theatre gives students, staff, faculty, and our community the opportunity to fully explore the varied learning resources of the our campus theatre.

Orlando

Adapted by Sarah Ruhl from the novel by Virginia Woolfe

Special Sensory Friendly Performance November 22 at 2 p.m.
Orlando, a play adapted from Virginia Woolf's novel, is a theatrical journey through time and gender, following the protagonist, Orlando, as they transition from a nobleman in the 16th century to a woman in the 20th century. The play explores themes of identity, gender fluidity, and the passage of time, with Orlando experiencing life across centuries and genders.

Xanadu

Book by Douglas Carter Beane, Music and Lyrics by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar

May 14, 15, & 16 at 7:30 p.m.
May 17 at 2pm
Special Sensory Friendly Performance May 16 at 2 p.m.
Xanadu is a musical comedy based on the 1980 film and tells the story of a Greek muse named Kira who inspires a struggling artist, Sonny, to overcome his creative block and build the pinnacle of 1980s artistic expression, a roller disco called Xanadu. The musical features hit songs from Olivia Newton John and Electric Light Orchestra.
