Materials Science Technology
We prepare students for technician jobs specializing in composites manufacturing, repair, and research. Our classes will introduce you to materials science, composite materials, and engineering design. We provide hands-on experience in state-of-the-art labs that train you for careers in various fields, including materials technician, composites technician, research associate, quality assurance, and more. If you complete the 15-credit composites Certificate of Completion, you are eligible to apply for Boeing's Blue Streak Mechanic, Composite Manufacturing Technician, or Tooling Inspector Apprenticeship programs. What our graduates say:
"Studying materials science gave me both confidence and clarity in dissecting the way by which products both simple and complex are designed, manufactured, and repaired. Viewing my surroundings through this lens of knowledge has garnered me the skills and reputation required to land a profitable and engaging career. The Edmonds program provides you with an opportunity to work with incredible tools that are generally only available in industry environments. For the aspiring student, this program will lay out the resources, advice, and path forward for your success in the advancing STEM marketplace."
