LPN to AN DTA Program Application Requirements
NOW AVAILABLE!
The LPN to AN DTA program is now available at Edmonds College! Our pilot cohort was admitted on October 10, 2025, so we’re actively recruiting prospective applicants for our Fall 2026 cohort. If you think you will be ready to apply during our next application cycle, please contact:
Nursing Program Navigator, Julia Erickson, at julia.erickson@edmonds.edu.
By providing your name and preferred email, we can notify you of any program updates and contact you when the next application is available.
LPN to RN Admissions 2026
- Monday, January 5, is the start of the winter quarter. This will mark the beginning of the final quarter to complete any remaining prerequisites. If you are unable to have all 65 prerequisite credits completed by the end of this quarter, you will be invited to apply for the 2027 cohort.
- We had planned to have the updated application packet and Canvas application course available on this date. However, due to technology issues during the winter break, we need to delay these items by several weeks.
- The updated Fall 2026 LPN to RN Bridge application packet should be ready soon. This will help you understand what you need to do for the supplemental application documents (resume, video essay, and writing sample).
- The Canvas application course, where you will upload your application information and documents, will be ready by Friday, January 27. This will give you 7 weeks to enter your application information and upload your documents.
LPN Experience
- Applicants must have at least one year of experience as an LPN. We will verify this in the application process with a copy of your nursing license.
- We will calculate one year from the start of the program year you’re applying for, or the first day of the fall quarter, which is September 21 for 2026.
- Applicants who want to be considered for admission in 2026 must have been licensed on or before September 21, 2025. If you were licensed after this date, you will be invited to apply in 2027.
In addition to unofficial transcripts to verify prerequisites + a copy of your license to verify experience, we will also require additional application documents. Specific information and instructions for what you will be expected to submit will be available here on January 5.
All application information and documents must be submitted via a zero-credit Canvas course that you will complete online. Instructions for accessing the Canvas course will also be provided at the start of the quarter.
Minimum Application Requirements
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 for Practical Nursing (PN) courses from the applicant's certificate or degree
- Minimum of 12 months of experience as an LPN
Documents you will submit in Canvas as part of your application:
- Copy of LPN license
- Copies of unofficial transcripts from all colleges/universities where PN and prerequisite credit were earned
- Resume
- Video Essay
- Writing Sample
Please do not email these documents to the program. All application information and materials must be submitted in the Canvas course. Instructions for how to request access can be found at the top of this page.
If you are not ready to apply right now, but want to be considered for future cohorts, please send your contact information to Nursing Program Navigator, Julia, at julia.erickson@edmonds.edu. Thank you for considering Edmonds College!
