LPN to AN DTA Program Application Requirements

The LPN to AN DTA program is now available at Edmonds College! Our pilot cohort was admitted on October 10, 2025, so we’re actively recruiting prospective applicants for our Fall 2026 cohort. If you think you will be ready to apply during our next application cycle, please contact:

Tentative Fall 2026 LPN to RN (AN DTA) application timeline:
- January 1, 2026: The updated Fall 2026 RN Application Packet will be available on this webpage. This packet is for informational purposes only, and the Fall 2025 packet is a good guide for what to expect in the upcoming cycle (see below).
- April 6, 2026: The Fall 2026 RN Canvas application course will be open on this day, and instructions for how to begin the process will be posted on this webpage. This is also the start of the final quarter in which applicants can complete the minimum program requirements (prerequisite courses and LPN experience). If you are unable to complete all items by the end of the quarter, you will be invited to apply in 2027.
- June 18, 2026: The Fall 2026 RN application will close on this day. All application information and supporting documents will be due by 5:00 PM to continue in the application process. Applicants who are unable to meet our minimum requirements by this date will be invited to apply in 2027.

Minimum Application Requirements
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 for Practical Nursing (PN) courses from the applicant's certificate or degree
- Minimum of 12 months of experience as an LPN
Documents you will submit in Canvas as part of your application:
- Copy of LPN license
- Copies of unofficial transcripts from all colleges/universities where PN and prerequisite credit were earned
- Resume
- Video Essay
- Writing Sample
Please do not email these documents to the program. All application information and materials must be submitted in the Canvas course. Instructions for how to request access can be found at the top of this page.
