Other Internships

There are several ongoing internship opportunities through Edmonds College, many of these are associated with ongoing collaborations with Edmonds College staff.  Here are a few of those opportunities:

University of Washington Buckley Lab students working in the field at UW

Edmonds College Butterfly Lab is a collaboration with UW.  The collaboration involves research on the effects of climate change on the cabbage white butterfly using historical data collected in the Seattle area 25 years ago. The proposed research will be partially conducted via course-based undergraduate research experiences (CUREs). The CUREs introduce students to relevant concepts and the research process. Some students have the opportunity to continue the research in the summer at the Buckley Lab at UW and participate in professional development training designed to facilitate their transition to a 4-year college and their retention in STEM fields. Students need to first take  BIOL&212 and/or BIOL&213 Majors Biology courses to qualify for this internship. For more information contact ugr@edmonds.edu.

The Biology Department collaborates with researchers at PNRI to create opportunities for our students to get paid internships in research labs through the Summer Undergraduate Research Internship (SURI). We are working together to increase access and funding for Edmonds and other college students to be able to have experiences in cutting edge research projects at Seattle research institutions like PNRI.
