Literature, Creative Writing, Journalism, Composition Classes

Welcome back, Tritons!
The campus is now open to help you get ready for classes. Most offices will continue to have some virtual hours as well as in-person hours. Classes (online, hybrid, and face to face) begin on September 20. We can't wait to see you!

English courses will help you build skills in communication, critical thinking, and interpretation. Majoring in English, creative writing, or journalism can lead to careers in the arts, journalism, communication, management, teaching, or law.

Composition courses required for the Associate in Arts (AA) transfer degree, English 101 and 102, emphasize analysis, critical reading, and academic writing.

Courses in literature, creative writing, and journalism count as humanities distribution credits for your AA. These courses can help you broaden your knowledge of the human experience and learn about different cultures.
