Triton Tips: Your New Student Checklist

Starting at Edmonds College? Feeling a little lost? Totally normal. Whether you've just finished high school, taken some time off, or are switching paths with a new career, starting something new can be confusing. But don’t stress—we’ve put together a simple checklist to help you figure out what to do and when, so you can get started as a Triton without the guesswork.

✅ START YOUR PATH

Before you dive into classes, complete these key steps to prepare:

• Online Orientation: Get familiar with resources, services, and what to expect.
  
  
• Apply for Financial Aid or Funding: Support is available—don’t leave money on the table!
  
  
• Explore Programs and Pathways: Find the best match for your goals by starting your journey at our Areas of Study or Career Action Center pages, where you can determine how your interests align with various programs and pathways. 
  

✅ ASSESS YOUR SKILLS

Placement helps ensure you start in the right classes. You can complete a placement test or submit transcripts from previous schools, test scores, or other documentation. Find out more here!

✅ PLAN YOUR CLASSES

• Request a starting plan for your first classes here. 

OR

• Meet with an advisor to select your first classes through an appointment or drop-in advising.

✅ REGISTER AND PAY FOR CLASSES

• Once you have a plan, use this tutorial to sign up for classes using ctcLink.

You’ve completed all the steps and are officially an Edmonds College student. Now, get ready for success:

• Access your Triton ID
  
  
• Get your EdPass (Student ID)
  
  
• Buy your books (Course syllabi will tell you what supplies you need. Check the Campus bookstore to see if they have your book in stock!)
