Amber Chiozza teaches various levels of drawing courses at Edmonds College while also teaching classes at Lake Washington Institute of Technology in Kirkland, Wash., and LoneStar College in Houston, Texas. She also manages her art handling business, focusing on sculpture preservation and restoration around the greater Seattle area.
In her art practice, she focuses on native pollinating insects and plants in Washington State, creating her work to enlighten people on insect diversity and ecological awareness. She incorporates her love of nature and art in her teaching practices, including many nature studies in her coursework. Her current in-progress series highlights the various native bees of Washington State, which includes over 650 species.
