Michael Wewer

Michael WewerMichael Wewer photographs wild spaces with the eye of a passionate conservationist. As a student under the legendary Michael Frome, who first urged him to teach, Wewer developed and taught courses in environmental photography and human impacts at Western Washington University.

For 20 years, he has brought students from over 20 countries into the wild areas of the Pacific Northwest to share the wonders of the natural world and to impart a passion for wilderness protection and photography. Michael's work showcases pristine areas in the hope of giving viewers a sense of place, planting seeds of gratitude for such a vast number of places to escape to, and inspiring action to protect these incredible natural gifts.
