No. You will need a working knowledge of introductory college chemistry to be successful in BIOL& 211.

Yes. CHEM& 161 or CHEM& 121 are a prerequisite for BIOL& 211, but can be taken concurrently.  You can also choose to complete BIOL&  211 after completing CHEM& 161 or CHEM& 121 with a grade of 2.0 or higher.  Taking  both CHEM& 161 or CHEM& 121 and BIOL&  211 concurrently is not recommended for students who have not taken chemistry or biology within the past two years.  We recommend discussing your situation with an advisor.

No. You can take BIOL& 213 before taking BIOL&212. BIOL& 212 is offered in the winter and summer quarters.  BIOL& 213 is offered in the fall and spring quarters.

Yes, but we strongly suggest taking these two courses during different quarters. Both of these classes are upper-level science classes and can be challenging for students to take at the same time since the content is very different and comprehensive. If you need to take BIOL& 260 simultaneously as anatomy & physiology, we recommend taking BIOL& 260 with BIOL &242 as some material builds on each other in these two courses.

First, check with your transfer program. Many transfer programs will still accept 10 credits if you complete the entire series at one college. If you need additional credits, we recommend taking BIOL 251 (1 credit) at the same time as BIOL& 241 and BIOL 252 (1 credit) at the same time as BIOL& 242 to reach the required 12 credits.
