Occupational Safety and Health

Workplace Safety

Occupational Safety and Health professionals work to prevent accidents and health hazards to workers, the community, and the environment. They are employed in every industry, including public and private companies, to eliminate work-related injuries and illness. They may also be involved with emergency preparedness and homeland security issues.

Core Curriculum

The core curriculum in this program includes courses in:

  • Safety and accident prevention
  • Safety management
  • Workers compensation and risk management
  • Incident investigation
  • Industrial security
  • Ergonomics
  • Hazardous materials
  • Industrial hygiene
  • Training techniques/adult education

Online Education

The Occupational Safety and Health courses are designed to meet the needs of working professionals with nearly all classes designed to be completed online. You can apply, register and start classes without having to come to campus. Technical support is available for online students. If a student intends to complete an associates degree, most classes are available online with Edmonds College or through our partner Pierce Community College.
