How to Print and Troubleshooting

How to Print With Your EdPass

  1. Log on to the computer. Press the print button in an application, sending the print job to the print server.
  2. Go to the print release station in the computer lab. Enter your credentials or swipe your card to see your print jobs.
  3. Select the print jobs you want to print. You’ll see the cost. Are you sure you really want to print every page? Did you look for ways cut pages? Once you have approved a print job at this point, there’s no going back.
  4. If you decide not to print the job, hit either the Logoff or Delete buttons.

Troubleshooting Printing

  • Low toner? Paper jam? Don’t wait. Tell the computer lab assistants at the library or Alderwood Hall as soon as you spot trouble.
  • Poor print quality? (see above) If you bring those pages immediately to a lab assistant, you can get free re-prints.
  • Laptop? No, you can’t print from your laptop — yet. We’re working on it!
  • BYO paper? No, you won’t save $ by bringing your own paper and this is not the place to print your resume. The paper supplied is the only paper that can be used in campus computer labs.

Reprints and Refunds

The computer labs do not keep cash on hand.  Cash refunds are not possible.

Print jobs that are below standard (e.g., crumpled, streaked toner) due to printer malfunction will be reprinted for free.  To have a print job reprinted:

  • Bring the damaged print job to the lab assistants in the Library or Alderwood Hall
  • This must be brought to the lab assistants in under 1 hour from the time the original damaged print job was printed
  • You may be asked to fill out a reprint request form

The cost for print jobs that are below standard (e.g. crumpled, streaked toner) due to printer malfunction AND are printed when lab assistants are not on duty during the weekends will be added to the EdPass or EdPass Community Card as free pages.  To have the cost for such print jobs credited:

  • Bring the damaged print job to the ACS technicians in Alderwood hall
  • This must be brought to the technicians within two business days from the date the original damaged print job was printed
  • You may be asked to fill out a reprint request form
  • It may take up to 2 business days to refund the cost to the appropriate card
