Receiving a Scholarship:

Q. When will I be notified if I have received an annual scholarship?

Students awarded an annual scholarship will be contacted in May via the email address provided in the online application. Only students awarded a scholarship will be contacted. No information will be given over the phone.

Q. How much money is usually awarded?

It varies by scholarship and year. Award amounts are listed on the scholarship site.

Q. Can I receive more than one scholarship?

Our general rule is that a student can only be awarded one scholarship so that we can award scholarships to as many students as possible.

Q. If I am awarded a scholarship, how will I receive the funds?

  1. You must complete the Scholarship Agreement, Relationship Disclosure Form, Media Release and a thank you Letter before funds can be disbursed; an email with the required forms will be sent to you after your scholarship is awarded.
  2. A hold will be placed on your financial aid account - this prevents you from being dropped the following quarter for non-payment.
  3. Funds will be sent directly to the College for distribution by the Financial Aid office after June 30.

Note: Scholarship recipients may also be asked to meet with the donors who made their scholarship possible. In this case, recipients will be notified in advance.

Q. If I decide not to attend Edmonds College this year, can I use the scholarship another year?

No. Foundation scholarships are awarded only for the upcoming academic year. In this case, you would need to apply again.

Using Scholarship Funds:

Q. What can scholarship funds be used for?

Funds can be used for tuition, fees and books. Certain scholarships can also be used for living expenses.

Q. How long do I have to use the funds?

Funds are available for use during one academic year (Summer through Spring) only. You should work with Financial Aid Services to determine the best way to use the funds throughout the year.

Q. Are there minimum requirements to continue receiving scholarship funds during the year?

Yes. Each scholarship has a different set of requirements. The most common requirement is that a student must maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. If a student falls below the required GPA, funds will not be released for future quarters.
