What are the Equipment and knife requirements?
Knives and equipment are required for all program students.
Students are responsible for the following:
- Purchasing, storing, and caring for their tools.
- Possessing the tools listed below by the first day of week three of the quarter.
- Tools are readily available for use; don't rely on another student's tools.
- Use of a carrying case or tool box for transporting knives and/or equipment.
The chef instructor will provide explanations and demonstrations of knives during the first week of orientation class.
If you are unfamiliar with any of the knives, please wait for the instructor's demonstration to purchase. Your instructor will talk to you about these options during advising and the first week's demonstration.
