Postbacc Students

"My time in Edmonds College science courses is unique—not only do I feel like more than just a number, but I truly feel part of a community of individuals striving to be something greater than themselves." Kevin Sneller, Post Bacc student

After teaching courses that cost $200-$300 or more, Program Director Julie Povick and Dr Glen Tamura created the Post Bacc program at Edmonds College to offer a more affordable option. Each quarter we have between 10-12 workshops/guest speakers and 1 in person event. We take student suggestions on upcoming topics and guest speakers. Students receive a detailed certificate of completion.

Example: Winter 2026

We scheduled 4 physicians from UWSOM, 2 patient guest speakers, a guest speaker from Coordinated Care discussing internet safety as it pertains to physician/patient interactions, students at UWSOM both Seattle/Spokane campuses, workshops on timelines, writing personal statements, and selection of schools. We have interactive modules that help students gain interpersonal communication skills and tips and tricks to obtain shadowing Dr Glen Tamura and his colleagues have workshops on linking science course content to diagnosing patient and medical ethics.
