John Wies
Undergraduate instructor/International Studies Department Chair
John began working for Edmonds College’s International Division in 1999 and served for many years in the division’s Intensive English Program. He was eventually called on to instruct and develop coursework in Intercultural Communications. John’s extensive teaching experience abroad and in other parts of the U.S. has given him a strong understanding of the needs, challenges, and opportunities that face both international and native/local college students. John holds a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics.
Interests: travel, skiing, photography, languages and songwriting
Monica Lombana
Undergraduate Instructor
Monica joined Edmonds College’s International Division in 2020. Originally from Colombia (South America), Monica moved to the U.S. over 20 years ago to pursue studies in International Relations, Economics, Finance, Development and Public Policy. Having taught a variety of undergraduate courses, Monica has years of instructional experience and has also worked on numerous research projects. Monica holds a Master's degree from Penn State and a PhD from the University of Maryland.
Interests: reading, yoga, learning french, volunteering and traveling
