Types of eLearning Classes

Online Courses

Online Courses utilize Canvas (the Learning Management System) and are completely online*. These courses are developed so that you never have to come to campus, all of the work is completed at a distance through the Internet. You will receive lessons and communicate with your instructor and other class members through a Website-based online classroom or using email. These courses follow the same quarter schedule as traditional courses and require students to work to that schedule. Regular access to a computer and an Internet account is essential. We offer several degree programs and certificates that can be completed online.

* Some classes may require proctored exams from approved testing centers.

Hybrid Courses

Hybrid Courses also utilize Canvas, combining class time on campus as well as additional work being carried out on the Internet. You will receive lessons and communicate with your instructor and other class members through a Website-based online classroom or using email. These courses follow the same quarter schedule as traditional courses and require students to work to that schedule. Regular access to a computer and an Internet account is essential. Students must attend scheduled classes and participate online.

Web Enhanced Courses

Web Enhanced Courses meet regularly in a traditional classroom setting, but may utilize online resources for additional interaction, posting of assignments, and course materials.  These courses are designed to allow you the ability to come to campus, with only a portion of the work to be completed online via the Internet.  Communication with your instructor and class members is conducted in a traditional classroom setting.  Regular access to a computer and the Internet is suggested.
